Görgemanns sowie Rainer W. Kühne [2] (Kapitel: "Ägypten und die Seevölker") zu nennen. Angefügt sei dazu, dass der Schwerpunkt der genannten Kapitel z.T. weniger auf den Atlantis-Lokalisierungen der genannten Forscher als auf einer Diskussion der in Frage kommenden Örtlichkeiten vor dem Hintergrund ihres atlantologischen Interesses liegt, wobei Krämer - mithin selber ein Berufsarchäologe - bisweilen mit höchst interessanten Detailinformationen aufwartet, womit das Buch auch InsiderInnen einiges Neue bieten dürfte.
Darüber hinaus liefert Rainer Krämer zu Beginn seines Atlantis-Buchs in drei erläuternden Kapiteln ("Die Legende", "Atlantis - eine Fiktion?", "Antike Geographie") sowie mit mehreren Stichwort-Erläuterungen im Anhang ("C-14 Methode", "Absolute Chronologie", "Relative Chronologie", "Minoische Kultur") aber auch einige wesentliche bzw. zum Verständnis der Materie notwendige Basis-Informationen, was gerade LeserInnen ohne jegliche Vor- und Fachkenntnisse dankbar zur Kenntnis nehmen werden.
Ob das Buch auch Mängel aufweist? Spontan, aber auch bei einigem Nachdenken, fällt dem Rezensenten dazu lediglich ein, dass "Atlantis - Das Rätsel des Aristokles" ruhig etwas umfangreicher hätte ausfallen dürfen, z.B. durch eine flankierende Einbeziehung der Atlantisforschungen weiterer, "fachfremder", Berufs-WissenschaftlerInnen, und auch zu den Personalia der erwähnten Forscher wäre etwas umfassendere Informaton wünschenswert, aber das sind natürlich keine wirklich gewichtigen Kritikpunkte. Sicherlich werden Kenner der Materie hie und da, in Detailfragen, anderer Auffassung als Krämer sein, aber im Großen und Ganzen zeichnet sich sein durchweg sauber recherchiertes sowie sine ira et studio verfasstes Buch durch eine Objektivität der Darstellung aus, wie sie bei AutorInnen aus dem 'Real existierenden Wissenschaftsbetrieb' leider nur selten zu finden ist.

Angefügt sei dazu, dass der Schwerpunkt der genannten Kapitel z.T. weniger auf den Atlantis-Lokalisierungen der genannten Forscher als auf einer Diskussion der in Frage kommenden Örtlichkeiten vor dem Hintergrund ihres atlantologischen Interesses liegt, wobei Krämer - mithin selber ein Berufsarchäologe - bisweilen mit höchst interessanten Detailinformationen aufwartet, womit das Buch auch InsiderInnen einiges Neue bieten dürfte.
Darüber hinaus liefert Rainer Krämer zu Beginn seines Atlantis-Buchs in drei erläuternden Kapiteln ("Die Legende", "Atlantis - eine Fiktion?", "Antike Geographie") sowie mit mehreren Stichwort-Erläuterungen im Anhang ("C-14 Methode", "Absolute Chronologie", "Relative Chronologie", "Minoische Kultur") aber auch einige wesentliche bzw. zum Verständnis der Materie notwendige Basis-Informationen, was gerade LeserInnen ohne jegliche Vor- und Fachkenntnisse dankbar zur Kenntnis nehmen werden.
Ob das Buch auch Mängel aufweist? Spontan, aber auch bei einigem Nachdenken, fällt dem Rezensenten dazu lediglich ein, dass "Atlantis - Das Rätsel des Aristokles" ruhig etwas umfangreicher hätte ausfallen dürfen, z.B. durch eine flankierende Einbeziehung der Atlantisforschungen weiterer, "fachfremder", Berufs-WissenschaftlerInnen, und auch zu den Personalia der erwähnten Forscher wäre etwas umfassendere Informaton wünschenswert, aber das sind natürlich keine wirklich gewichtigen Kritikpunkte. Sicherlich werden Kenner der Materie hie und da, in Detailfragen, anderer Auffassung als Krämer sein, aber im Großen und Ganzen zeichnet sich sein durchweg sauber recherchiertes sowie sine ira et studio verfasstes Buch durch eine Objektivität der Darstellung aus, wie sie bei AutorInnen aus dem 'Real existierenden Wissenschaftsbetrieb' leider nur selten zu finden ist.
Somit werden es ihm auch Anhänger and operator of Atlantis deviant or international scholarly research, and committed supporters of certain localization hypotheses hardly blame that he "found Atlantis?" in the chapter non-conformist models of Atlantis localization one, also without any malice and polemics formulated, issued cancellation, and concludes, a "real place, one can bring the narrative of Critias in touch," was "not according to the current state of research in term. Conclusion: Especially since "Atlantis - The Riddle of Aristocles" lively written, and thus also in literary terms (! Note, for example, the imaginative and humorous introduction chapter "A Little History") is worth reading thoroughly, it is the reviewer with a clear conscience, both ' Atlantis newcomers' as well as experts recommend, and the hope he can express this small but rich, work may find its deserved place in the standard literature on the Atlantis research. In other Publikationen des Autors - hoffentlich auch mehr zum Thema 'Atlantis'! - darf man jedenfalls gespannt sein.

[1] Warum Rainer Krämer in diesem Kapitel die durchaus wesentlichen Arbeiten von Angelos Galanopulos 'außen vor' lässt, versteht der Rezensent allerdings nicht. Galanopulos war zwar weder Philologe noch Archäologe, sondern von Hause aus Seismologe, hätte aber aufgrund seiner besonderen Bedeutung für die Entwicklung der 'kreto-minoischen' Atlantis-Lokalisierung zumindest eine Erwähnung am Rande verdient. Immerhin nennt Krämer ja auch Rainer W. Kühne (siehe Anm. 2).
